Quick Change for Cricket Team - India – Mumbai – April 10

A very quick and last minute trip came up for International Costume Change Artists Keelan and Charlotte, as they were invited only several days prior to the event to perform at a prestigious event in Mumbai. They did not know who they were performing for until they reached Mumbai earlier this month. Upon arrival they were told they would be performing for the Indian Cricket Team. Seeing as Cricket is India’s number one sport it was the equivalent of performing of the England Football team!

The event was held in a 5* Hotel in the centre of Mumbai and the Dress Change Artists were the only International Act but did get to perform alongside one of India’s most talented musicians. It was a real honor for the British Quick Change Artists to perform for the Indian Cricket Team, who they got to meet after the performance. They were a fantastic crowd and the event was a private one sponsored by a telecommunications network. The Quick Change Artists stayed one night in Mumbai before jetting back to London to catch their next flight to Cairo.

The first of the two events was held at the cement plant itself and 20,000 employees were invited to watch the spectacular event. The Quick Change Artists were excited to perform for such a large crowd – the equivalent of a music concert. Their amazing costume change show was very well received by the large crowd.

The second show was a much more intimate affair – being held in a 300 seat theatre. This show was mainly for the clients of Shree Cement and was invited guests. Keelan and Charlotte had a great time performing in India and got to meet some other International artists while out there. The trip co-insided with the Indian festival of colours. The quick change act which is full of bright colours and changing costumes was a perfect warm up for the eve of the colours festival and very well received by the theatre crowd.

Quick Change Artists Perform for British High Commissioner in India

While the Quick Change Artists were away in India performing for ESPN and Star Sports Channel, they extended their trip as they were invited to performed for the British High Commissioner of India at an event that was another celebration of the Cricket World Cup. The event was held at the High Commissioner's private residence which happened to be opposite the President of India's house in New Delhi. A live feed of the cricket was broadcast from the UK along with a performance from an Indian comedian and closing the show was the British Quick Change Artists - Keelan Leyser and Charlotte Marie.

Keelan and Charlotte were honored to perform at this private event and got to meet the High Commission himself and a lot of the British staff working at the British Embassy in India, which was a pleasant surprise to perform for Brits outside of the UK.

Keelan and Charlotte head back to India

In recent months, Keelan Leyser and Charlotte Marie, the UK's only Quick Change Artists have been traveling back and forth between the UK and India, performing their amazing 8 minutes Quick Change Act.

Their debut in India was back in November to celebrate 100 years of Hindustan Unilever. The event was held in the 5 star Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai. Keelan and Charlotte were part of the entertainment schedule which also included a troop of 30 Indian dancers as well as a Bollywood musician.

We had a brilliant time in Mumbai, despite only being there for 2.5 days. It was literally a flying trip, but we managed to cram in a bit of tourist activity, and it was just as well, because a couple of weeks after we left the awful Mumbai terrorist attacks occurred and the Taj Palace was destroyed.

In February we returned to India, this time performing in both Delhi and Jaipur for AirTel and Vodafone. Our stay was 5 days this time and we were driving from Delhi to Jaipur so it gave us the opportunity to see more of India. The drive is around 4-6 hours depending on traffic and the entire area is desert so there were plenty of cows, camels and elephants to see along the way.

The shows went very well and it looks as though we are heading back out to Mumbai and Bangalore in early March for several shows again for AirTel.

I have added some photos of both the shows and our sightseeing experiences.

That is all for now and I will keep you posted on where we are off to next.

Best wishes,

Charlotte and Keelan
